Atlas Contract Furniture celebrates four projects nominated for the Mix Interiors Awards 2024.

The Mix Awards have been running since 2005 and praise the very best projects, products and people in commercial interior design.

It is an honour that four projects we’ve had the pleasure to work on have made the nomination list, seeing how the bespoke banquette seating we manufactured has helped to create award-winning spaces for our clients.

San Carlo, Liverpool

Winning a Mix Award 2024 for Project of the Year – Bar & Leisure Interiors is the design team at Fettle for their vibrant refurbishment of the Liverpool restaurant, installed by contractors du Boulay Projects.

The banquette seating in burnt orange leather and velvet alongside the scatter cushions we upholstered for the project perfectly compliment the other bespoke furniture in the design, including the marble and timber tables and curved legged dining chairs.

The plain back banquettes are a timeless classic but the colour-contrasting trim piping at the ends of the benches is what makes this seating so special. The central area restaurant banquettes also feature polished brass foot rails and brackets, waxed for protection and adding a refined touch to the Italian restaurant.

Arcade Food Hall, Battersea

A finalist in the Project of the Year – Bar & Leisure category is Red Deer Architects for their innovative design of the Arcade Food Hall at Battersea Power Station. Interiors UK acted as the contractors for this project with Morgann Carr as cost consultants. 

This was a complex project for a location that seats 500 people and consisted of cocktail bar booths, carriage booths and long banquette seats. With multiple fabric and colour choices to suit the different areas of the vast venue, we were presented with a fun challenge that certainly paid off.

A standout design that we have received many enquiries about since is the deep red leather plain back booths constructed with two row split backs to create intimate booth seating.

Skof, Manchester

Finalists in the Mix Awards North 2024 are Blacksheep for their elegant design at Skof, a restaurant in Manchester city centre.

Featuring fluted back banquette seating in a deep green antique faux leather, the seating is kept simple to compliment the restaurant which is focused on skill and quality.

A curved booth seat matching the banquettes but fitted with cappings to follow the shape of the curved wall and window cills completes the bespoke seating in the space nicely.

Lenovo, Hampshire

A finalist for the Positive Impact Project of the Year award is Lenovo’s UK headquarters in Hampshire for their commitment to being environmentally conscious, designed by Area.

With sustainability at the heart of this project, the banquette seating created for the reception areas was curved with plain natural oak stained back to keep the look and feel in-keeping with the natural atmosphere of the space.
