Langstane Press Limited is Scotland’s largest independent office products company and reached out to us to assist with a project that required modular furniture. Seating was needed for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, a new health and social care hub for the community in North East Glasgow.
The requirement was for freestanding furniture in the welcome area of the hub. Given the multi-purpose use of the space and the many services the hub provides, breakout furniture was the obvious choice to allow for flexibility.
We created a set of six identical freestanding seating pods, the specifications of which are from our breakout range of furniture in our Modulus Seating business. Modulus Seating provides instant prices for customised modular furniture which is a great solution when it is not necessary for bespoke seating to be built-in or fixed into place.
Langstane Press required high back pods to enable privacy for the busy lobby area. These were built to our largest width specification and the outside back panels were modified for to create taller pods. The seats are upholstered in a grey vinyl upholstery cover that is Crib 5 as Standard and easily cleaned, a perfect choice for the high traffic area.
The freestanding sofas mean that the space can be used for many different functions and the seating can be altered for intimate high back booth seating or lined up in a row for certain events.
The Hub opened in January 2025 and is the largest of its kind in the UK. It was a pleasure to work on this project and provide bespoke seating solutions for a unique building that provides a variety of health services.
