Hari’s Bar is the popular student's union bar at the University of Surrey.
Requirement
Hari’s Bar, the popular student’s union bar at the University of Surrey is a place where students can kick back and socialise after their studies. The bar needed a complete refurbishment and Atlas Contract Furniture were contacted to come up with a fixed seating design that not only made great use of the space, but looked the part too.
What we did
We designed and installed plain back bench seating, finished in a black faux leather upholstery. The centre of the bar features curved back bench seating to widen walkways and create fluidity in the bar’s design. With its exposed ceilings and industrial pipework, we complemented this aesthetic with sheet metal outside backs where seat backs are on display.
Atlas Contract Furniture also supplied a variety of loose furniture including small round topped tables, rectangle tables and bar stools. We also installed a stage area to host live music acts including bands and guest DJ’s.
Result
The team at Hari’s Bar were delighted with the outcome, with contract furniture that really makes the best possible use of the space while complementing the venues industrial look.
