Balan’s Soho Society is one for the outcasts where too much of a good thing doesn’t exist. Blending a mix of modern designs with traditional styles, the restaurant seating was designed to be comfortable so diners could kick back and relax and enjoy the sociable environment.
Requirement
The client contacted us to furnish their new restaurant and bar in Clapham, London, with a key requirement to design and install comfortable fixed seating that their cosmopolitan city crowd could relax in.
As a brand, Balans Soho Society prides itself on being fun and stylish, so their furniture needed to match. We worked closely with their interior designer to design new banquette seating that would complement the restaurants setting while providing comfortable and sociable seating for groups of friends and families to enjoy.
What we did
To create different seating areas for various sized dining groups to enjoy, we designed and manufactured fixed bench seating in a duck-egg blue upholstery and deep button backs to enhance the light and spacious feel of the more exposed areas of the restaurant. This beautifully complemented the dark, walnut tables and burnt orange chairs. These fixed seats were finished with a wooden plinth around the base that complemented the wooden tabletops.
The restaurant also features more secluded areas for groups of friends wishing for a more private dining experience. With booths set-in the restaurant's alcoves, we designed a more bespoke back using a rich-toned suede-effect fabric with contrasting cream piping. The curved booth seating was a combination of our 2 horizontal back with vertical flutes. As a final finishing touch to offer an improved customer experience, the client wanted us to install power plugs to the base of the seats.
Result
We were delighted to provide bespoke seating solutions that were designed to meet our client’s brief. We used two different seating back styles in contrasting colours to deliver stylish and comfortable seating that complements the clients brand and enhances the atmosphere they wanted to create.
As a final touch to offer an improved customer experience, the client wanted us to add in power plugs to the base of the seats.
