As specialists in creating bespoke seating solutions, Atlas Contract Furniture undertook the task of supplying and fitting out The Hampshire, a culinary gem nestled in the vibrant heart of Hammersmith, serving a fresh take on authentic Indian dishes, with exquisite banquette seating and bespoke tabletops and bases. This endeavour aimed to enhance the establishment's overall ambiance, bolster customer satisfaction, and elevate its status as a premier dining destination.

Requirement

The client initially approached us seeking a reliable partner to address their seating needs for their restaurant. The existing setup consisted of mismatched tables and chairs, creating an inconsistent and disjointed aesthetic. A space with high ceilings and expansive windows that flooded the space with natural light, the restaurant possessed immense potential. However, the challenge lay in accommodating a sufficient number of covers without compromising comfort or functionality. Seeking a comprehensive solution, the client reached out to us for our expertise in banquette seating. They shared images of the current state of the restaurant, underscoring the need for a cohesive and inviting dining area that could be expanded in the future, if desired. Our task was clear: to devise the optimal banquette seating arrangement that would maximize space utilization while ensuring a comfortable and functional dining experience.

What We Did

Working in close collaboration with The Hampshire, we embarked on a meticulous planning process to create the perfect banquette seating and table solutions for their restaurant. Drawing upon our expertise, we supplied and manufactured our highly sought-after Fluted Back Style seating, ensuring it seamlessly integrated with the restaurant's design preferences to enhance the overall ambiance and aesthetics, we incorporated wall panelling to elegantly clad around the pillars, adding a touch of sophistication to the space. Additionally, we integrated oak veneer cappings and down caps with radiator grills, upholstered and oak veneered outside backs, and a bold pop of colour through the carefully selected upholstery cover. This combination of elements created an immersive and inviting atmosphere, striking a harmonious balance between elegance and practicality.

In terms of material selection, we opted for premium materials that could withstand the demands of a restaurant environment. After some samples being arranged, the Client chose Agua Primeira Velvet upholstery, renowned for its durability and suitability for high-use areas. With a remarkable Martindale rub test exceeding 150,000 rubs, it offers exceptional resistance to wear and tear. Moreover, this upholstery is Crib 5 fire treated, easy to clean, and boasts excellent stain removal properties. The added advantage of anti-bacterial protection ensures a hygienic and safe dining experience. For the table components, we crafted bespoke 26mm thick Oak Veneer Tabletops to go on black cast aluminium bases. To achieve the desired aesthetic, we expertly stained the veneer in-house within our dedicated spray department, providing the client with sample options before finalizing the Light Oak finish with a subtle 5% sheen.

By combining our craftsmanship, attention to detail, and high-quality materials, we delivered a bespoke banquette seating and table solution that not only met but exceeded the expectations of The Hampshire Restaurant. The result was a visually stunning and functional dining space that embraced their unique design vision and enhanced the overall guest experience.
